Research Interests

Whilst I mainly focus on degree leadership and quality assurance, I occasionally conduct research on:

  • Memory accuracy: I study how well people recall events. My studies often simulate legal scenarios, such as having mock eyewitnesses view a staged crime and later recall it, or having mock jurors watch a trial and later recall the evidence.

  • Age estimation: I study how accurately we can estimate others’ ages from their appearance. For example, I worked with the UK National Crime Agency examining how accurately sexual assault victims can estimate their convicted attacker's age during their initial police interviews.

My research has featured in media outlets such as 7 News (2018)
